Team Lift-Out, London
Background:
- Our client, an AmLaw 20 law firm was looking to grow its projects and infrastructure practice in London. We were mandated by the Global Head of Finance on a retained search to find an experienced partner for the group.
- We identified a very experienced infrastructure partner at a major international law firm who also offered some client synergies. In addition, we identified another rainmaker within the group who was looking to move and brought the group together, moving both of them to our client firm.
Challenges:
- There was high demand within the infrastructure market in London, with a number of firms showing interest in the two partners. We managed to keep the process moving and to ensure that our client was the preferred choice for the group.
Outcome:
- The firm hired the two partners to launch an M&A and finance infrastructure practice in London.
What we received from the client that contributed to the success of the project:
- The search was led by the Head of Finance who worked quickly with his colleagues and the firm’s senior leadership in New York to make the process as smooth and fast as possible, even in a very competitive situation. Time was of the essence and gave our client a definite advantage in securing the team.
