Leading Private Equity Fund
Background:
- A leading Private Equity Fund based in Paris, London and New-York approached us in relation to a complex search for a Tax Director to be based in Paris or London.
Challenges:
- The main challenge was that the client’s Tax Director was leaving, making the search very time sensitive and yet we still had to be very selective as they needed a top tier candidate, qualified in France but able to cover tax issues in multiple jurisdictions.
Strategy:
- Our strategy was to target excellent tax teams in top law firms working on international matters.
- Also, we looked at firms in which it is very difficult to make partner to maximise our chances of finding candidates who would consider moving in-house.
Outcome:
- The successful candidate had 8 years of experience in a leading French firm and had a strong international background. To reach the successful outcome we had to convince the candidate that moving in-house was the right thing for his career and maintain his motivation throughout our client’s internal hiring process.
